The improvements of the surfaces under and around the T-Shades is anticipated to be completed approximately October 29th, T-Shade tenant can move back into their respective slots on October 30th.

The next phase of construction is referred to as "Task 2" and will include a complete reconstruction of the paved surface surrounding the Self-Serve fuel farm, extending all the way to the Air Methods/Tri-State Careflight air ambulance facility ("Self-Serve Ramp"). Task 2 also includes partial reconstruction on the South end of the Hero Hangars and is scheduled to begin on November 1, 2021. In order to get started on a timely basis, we ask that any aircraft located on the Self-Serve Ramp be moved no later than October 31, 2021.

Again, this schedule is fluid and can shift depending on the weather, materials, or additional work. The Airport team is working with the contractor to allow for aircraft to ingress and egress and truly appreciates your understanding and patience during this project.

Tenants of our Northwest Hangars and the T-shades will receive a notice very soon regarding relief for rents you have paid while unable to utilize your leased Premises.

Last update October 4th, 2021 – 2:00 P.M.

Current Phase: Task 1

The Yuma County Airport Authority (YCAA) is doing its best to keep our tenants informed on the General Aviation Apron Rehabilitation project which is underway. The project began in mid-August, with the first phase of the work focusing on the Northwest and T-Shade Hangars area.

Provided is a status update with estimated completion dates provided by the contractor:

The Northwest Hangar is scheduled to be completed on October 9, 2021. **Striping (lead lines) will be completed the following week and can be completed while occupied. The lead line will require 30 minutes setting time when placed. Tenants in the NW Hangars can begin to move aircraft back into their hangars on October 9th. (This is contingent on the newly placed asphalt passing all FAA required testing.)

The T-shades are scheduled to be completed on October 20, 2021. All aircraft can be placed into its leased t-shade on October 20th. If there is any delay in the schedule, the tenant will be contacted by October 13, 2021.

TASK 2: Phase 2 Self Service Ramp & partial reconstruction South End of Hero Hangars: The YCAA anticipates the next task to start the following week once Task 1 is completed. The next scheduled task is the Self-Service Ramp & a portion on the South end of the Hero Hangars. All aircraft on the Self-Serve Ramp must vacate by October 21, 2021. Aircraft located on the self-service ramp and not currently leasing a T-shade or hangar will relocate aircraft to the South Ramp. For assistance with towing your aircraft, please contact Million Air to coordinate the date and time for your aircraft to be relocated. There will be reconstruction on the South end of the Hero Hangars and as that plan is solidified for this next task, the Airport will reach out directly to all Hero Hangars tenants with the information and taxi plan. This area is broken into two parts to allow tenants to remain in their hangars during the reconstruction of that area.

As previously shared by our team, project schedules can shift due to weather, materials availability and/or areas within the "Task" requiring adjustment due to tenant use as well as user-based concerns. When the project phasing/task plan is materially modified, the YCAA will continue to provide updated schedules or notices. Before work begins in an area affecting your operations specifically, our Airport team will reach out in advance, to inform you of the details necessary to keep interruptions to a minimum and help ensure the largest margin of safety possible.

Our website is dedicated to keeping you informed with the latest project information. Another way to keep informed is to ensure you have access to updates available on YCAA social media. Be sure to "Like", "Subscribe" and "Follow" us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The Airport team, YCAA Board of Directors and Contractors are working hard to communicate the project status and timing of each tasks. The YCAA appreciates your patience, cooperation and understanding.

If you have any questions at all, please call Juan Trasvina, our Director of Operations at 928-750-6778.
